Hopping Around the Frog Pond Trail

Last week a bunch of us set out to complete a hike at Duncans Cove Nature Preserve . We didn’t. It was not well marked with lots of no parking signs and private proerty.and we could find the trailhead  we planned on hiking , so one of our group suggested a easy stroll instead – around the Frog Pond trail. Frog Pond is part of the  Sir Sanford Flemming Park trail system.

Frog Pond trail was the antithesis of Duncan’s Cove – short easy trails with lots to see and perfect for  family walk or a meditative stroll.

We loved it.

There are lots of benches and some picnic tables. We saw no frogs at all,but ducklings, birds and chipmunks and even a white squirrel who was much too  speedy for my camera.

It’s about 1.5 km around the pond with access to the Northwest Arm and the Dingle.  We walked part  of the trail to the Dingle to take advantage of the washrooms there.
