Hike to Horse Pasture Brook Falls
Where’s the Trailhead?
First thing you need to know-there is more than one trailhead to Horse Pasture Brook Falls.
Alltrails doesn’t mention this.
I guess it got us to where we wanted to go. (Little Ville Drive)
But another of our hiking ladies put the address directly in her GPS. It did not take her to the same place.
We had no cell service and no Wi-Fi – no way of connecting to each other.
Luckily, one of our group finally found a signal and we tracked her down. She was only a kilometer away from us, but we would never know that.
Please have a Plan B in case you get separated and don’t count having on cell service.
My suggestion is have prearranged meeting spot, maybe a service station or a familiar landmark to meet at after a specified amount of time.
( Please research where these meet spots are before hike day and spread the info among your group.)
Plan C might be if one member couldn’t find the right trailhead, it would be known amongst your group knowledge the person would go home after a specified amount of time. Nothing worse when someone doesn’t know what to do when they can’t connect with the rest of the group.
All that being said – this was a fun hike. The route we took was about 3.5 with quite a bit of climbing. It will be stunning once the fall colors come all the way out.
We crossed a swinging bridge and a couple of log ” bridges” and turned right at a directional sign. It’s a good idea to have a downloaded map on your phone – there are other trails crisscrossing each other after the waterfall sign.
Then up we go.
Some kind person put flagging tape in the areas taking off trail and to the falls.
There were several falls. We saw three, and there were at least two more.
Most of us didn’t feel the urge to risk like and limb to get really close.
She was the bravest of all.
I’m sure we could have done it ok, but we wary of slipping on soft moss going down or not be able to get back up.
Ok. It was me! I was wary of this.
Next time I’ll bring a rope and knot it around tree to inch my way down.
A bonus waterfall!
This is Wentworth Falls -a mere .5 km walk from the road and very close by.

Drive a short way down the road to the trailhead next to an abandoned house - Very sporadic cell service and Wi-Fi. Bell seems to work better than others.
