The lower section of Jodrey is just over a kilometer-and it’s pretty much straight up. Coming out from the top onto the road, it’s roughly a kilometer walk down the winding mountain road until you come to a Do Not Park sign on the right.
On the other side of the guard rail is a trail that goes right to the waterfall. And they were gorgeous today! What the rain taketh away in sure footedness, it gave back in beauty.

Keep in mind that you can also access these falls by simply walking across the road from the lower parking lot and taking that trail.You’ll see signs that will point you to the falls-keep straight on the trail if your intention is not to climb up the Borden Brook trail.i
I tell someone where I am going-and what trails I’m planning on taking as well as an idea of when you should be back.
I take a day pack and pack a first aid kit with water purifying tablets-in case I need more water than I bring, band-aids and such,headlamp, tick spray-yes the buggers are still around-and a cheap survival blanket

Navigation? I know these trails very well, but I use the Gaia app when I am not familiar with the hike. Someday, I hope to become more proficient with map reading. Today is not that day.
Some food, Today I took a sandwich and I had a protein bar with me. Emma shared my sandwich . I always have a collapsible water such for her too.
Water
Extra clothing. I usually run warm when I hike, but I still take extra. You’ll cool off quickly when you stop.

Once the park is closed (usually right after Thanksgiving) the gate to the actual park is closed. That means taking with the Jodrey trail or Borden Brook to get to the top .
